Connecting Raise the Money to your Electbase site

Raise the Money gives your campaign a hosted donation page, and your Electbase donate button sends donors there. That is the whole connection: Raise the Money publishes no API and no webhooks, so donation records never flow back into Electbase automatically. The money goes from your donor to Raise the Money to your committee. Electbase never touches it.

Who uses Raise the Money

Raise the Money is a nonpartisan processor with no race-level restrictions, so a school board campaign and a congressional campaign get the same page. One thing worth knowing before you pick it: it is widely used across the political spectrum, including by Republican campaigns. For a nonpartisan race that is usually irrelevant; if your supporters would care, factor it in. The Connections card in Electbase says the same thing.

Not sure it is the right processor for your race? Start with Which donation processor is right for your race?, which compares fees and who each one serves.

Getting your link

Your donate link is the address of your campaign's hosted donation page in Raise the Money. Copy it from your Raise the Money account, including the https:// at the start.

Connecting it in Electbase

In the editor, open the Campaign details panel. In its Donate card, choose Raise the Money as the Processor and paste your link into Donate page link. Save, then publish.

Your donate section's buttons now open your Raise the Money page, and the small note under the button reads "Processed by Raise the Money. You'll leave this site to give." That note is Electbase's copy; you can change it in the section if you prefer your own wording.

Changing your link later?

Change it in Campaign details again. The editor moves your donate section to the new link too, unless you had pointed that section at a different link yourself. Then publish, and click your live donate button to check it lands on the right page.

Your donate page carries your "Paid for by" disclaimer in the footer, as every page on your site does. Electbase adds it for you and won't publish a page without it, but read it on the live page anyway.

What the amount buttons do

The "$25", "$50" and "Other" buttons in your donate section all open your Raise the Money page exactly as your link reads. Electbase does not add the chosen amount to the link, because Raise the Money's amount parameter has never been verified against their page and a button that silently opened at the wrong amount would be worse than one that lets the donor choose. Donors pick their amount on Raise the Money.

(This is different from ActBlue, where each amount button opens the form at that amount. See Connecting ActBlue if you are comparing.)

Getting donor data into Electbase

There is no automatic sync, and there won't be one until Raise the Money publishes an API or webhooks. Your donation records live in your Raise the Money dashboard, and that is where you reconcile and report from.

When you want your donors in your Electbase supporter list, export a donor CSV from Raise the Money and bring it in with Import CSV on your Contacts page. Use the generic donor list layout and match the columns when the importer asks.

Because nothing flows back, Raise the Money gifts never appear on your Finance page on their own. If you want them there, enter them by hand, and keep Raise the Money's own reports as your source of truth for compliance.

What the Connections card is for

Raise the Money also appears on your Connections page. Its card exists to say exactly what this article says: hosted link, no API, no data path. There is no credential to paste and nothing to connect there. The Campaign details panel is where the link lives.

Quick checklist

  1. Set up your committee's account with Raise the Money and copy your hosted donation page link.
  2. In the editor, open Campaign details and set Raise the Money and your link.
  3. Publish, then check your "Paid for by" disclaimer and click the live donate button.
  4. Keep reconciling gifts in Raise the Money. When you want donors in your supporter list, export a CSV from Raise the Money and import it on your Contacts page.
Not legal advice. Electbase publishes the Help Center as general information for campaigns. Raise the Money's features, fees, and terms change — confirm current details directly with Raise the Money.
