Why we ask for your committee

The paperwork step isn't busywork — it's what makes you legal.

The FEC (and nearly every state) requires a clear "Paid for by [your committee]" disclaimer on your homepage and every page that asks for money. That disclaimer has to name your registered committee — so we collect your committee details up front, generate the disclaimer for you, and confirm it before you publish.

Federal committees: we verify your FEC Committee ID (C00…).
State & local: we confirm your registration and Statement of Organization.
